Emerson Center at Camp May
Beaumont Scout Reservation
6480 Beaumont Reservation Drive
High Ridge, MO 63049
Conveniently located just off I-44 in the St. Louis area, with easy access from the interstate.
BASECAMP 1 will take over the Emerson Center Dining Hall, providing approximately 100' × 40' of heated indoor space for the Free-mo layout.
The facility gives us plenty of room for a substantial layout while keeping everyone indoors and comfortable for a December weekend.
Bringing Modules & Equipment
Bringing a Free-mo module to BASECAMP 1? We'd love to include it in the layout.
During registration, you'll be asked for information about the module(s) you plan to bring so they can be considered during layout planning.
Please be prepared to provide basic information such as module dimensions, single/double track configuration, etc. We will reach out shortly after your registration for exact details.
Final layout placement will depend on the overall module mix and available space.
DCC Control
The layout will operate using DCC, with Digitrax as the primary command-control system. Participants are encouraged to bring their own compatible Digitrax throttles.
A limited number of Wi-Fi throttle connections will also be available for participants who would like to use a compatible phone or tablet as a throttle.
Locomotives must be DCC-equipped to operate on the layout.
Rolling Stock
Bring your freight cars, passenger equipment, and other rolling stock! Equipment should be reliable and in good operating condition, with compatible wheels and couplers suitable for Free-mo operations.
